Abstract :
A modified version of the load duration curve, termed the Combined Load Duration Curve (CLDC), that accurately accounts for forced outages, maintenance requirements and random deviations of customers´ demand, is presented. Approaching the problem from a probabilistic point of view, the CLDC is formulated in an explicit manner using a convolution process. A computational procedure, based on recursive relations, is then derived directly from the convolution formula.
