Abstract :
L-shell ionization in Ho, Er, Tm, Ta, W, Tl, Pb and Bi by 20 MeV carbon ions and 37.5 MeV silicon ions has been investigated. The observed L¿/L¿ x-ray intensity ratios are compared with the estimates based on PWBA and BEA calculations. The energy shifts in the L¿, L¿1 and L¿4 x rays are attributed to the presence of M shell spectator vacancies.
