Abstract :
A computer program (originally developed for electric field calculations) has been successfully used for the ground grid design of a substation (Barra do Peixe) to be build in the northwest part of Brazil. An additional computer program for soil modeling, which determines the best two-layer fit from multilayered earth, is presented. The results of earth resistivity field measurements and their analytical interpretation are presented. The resulting grid design, layout, and safety characteristics are reported
