Abstract :
A unique method is proposed in this paper for the expansion planning of radial subtransmission systems, the integral part of the rural electrical power system. The method determines where capacity shortages and excessive voltage drops exist and, most importantly, what additional new circuits or increases in existing circuits should be considered to relieve the problem, using as input the existing network, load and generation schedules, and data for possible new circuits throughout the system. A sample study is shown.
