Abstract :
A modulation depth enhancement technique for highly sensitive electro-optic (EO) sensing of RF near-fields is presented. This technique increases EO signal intensity without increasing total power received by a photodiode (PD). Therefore, sensitivity limitation owing to saturation of the PD can be avoided. Sensitivity improvement of 20 dB compared to the conventional configuration is successfully achieved
