Abstract
A theoretical discussion of a collapsing field accelerator is presented. This accelerator has several novel features, including completely passive, zero-current off-switching of stator coils and quite high efficiency and average-to-peak acceleration. The device serves as its own intermediate energy storage system, and can be powered directly by a homopolar generator. Results of numerical simulations of the accelerator are presented
