Abstract :
The second-order differential equation for two parallel identical lossy wires situated above a perfectly conducting plane in a homogeneous lossless medium is given in this letter. Its solution describes the superposition of two modes which propagate along the lines with different propagation coefficients. If the coupling is strong and/or the losses are high, then these two propagation coefficients differ markedly from ω√(ωμ) and are well separated
