Abstract
The authors describe numerical simulations performed with a quasi-1D MHD (magnetohydrodynamic) code (CONFUSE) which has been applied to simulate the behavior of plasma brushes used in hybrid armatures. The simulations have provided estimates of the plasma brush length, resistive voltage drop, and temperatures corresponding to a range of brush gap size, fuse thickness, and magnetic pressure. The results of these simulations are presented and discussed
