Abstract :
This is the first of a two-part series based on a roundtable discussion held at the 21st IEEE Conference on Decision and Control and organized by the Control Systems Society Professional Activities Committee. Part I is based on prepared statements by the first five roundtable participants, while Part II is based on Leo Fanning´s review of the activities of the IEEE Washington Office in the areas of technology policy.
