Abstract :
After many years and a great deal of success in developing the Lamb-shift and ground-state-type polarized ion sources the polarized ion source users are now shifting their attention to several fundamentally different approaches. These new approaches appear to have the potential of producing H-¿ currents that are many orders of magnitude larger than allowed by conventional sources.
