Abstract :
160 Gb/s (8/spl times/20 Gb/s PRBS NRZ channels) have been transmitted on a 28-nm optical bandwidth over three DSF amplifier spans for a total distance of 238 km. The dispersion management technique, based upon the use of standard fiber, includes both partial in-line compensation and individual channel compensation at the output of the receiver demultiplexer.
