Abstract :
MADAME is a real-time, stand-alone data acquisition and analysis system for up to 8 parameters (ADCs) at the Munich Tandem Van de Graaf accelerator. The system consists of microprocessors for address calculation and solid-state memory for storing histograms. It is based on a special asynchronous bus, which operates up to 32 microprocessors in parallel. This design allows event rates of 50 kHz. At present the system operates with 14 microprocessors and 2.5 Mbyte of memory.
