Abstract :
Absorption spectral lines in 87Rb were measured by the internal second harmonic generated from a 1.56 mu m GaInAsP DFB laser. This second harmonic frequency was locked to the center of the 87Rb spectral line to stabilise the 1.56 mu m fundamental radiation frequency. The resultant frequency stability was 9.0*10-12 over the integration time of 100 s.
