Abstract :
In order to identify scene texts from the background interferences, many existing methods are developed just rely on exploring heuristic rules or designing sophisticated text-specific features. In this letter, we solve this problem from a different perspective, not only the low-level texture feature is adopted to describe the candidate regions, but also the mid-level patches and the context information are integrated for boosting the classification robustness. Experimental results on the three benchmark datasets show that the proposed approach has obtained the promising classification performance.
