Abstract :
This paper describes the design of a precision pointing control system for the Space Infrared Telescope Facility (SIRTF). SIRTF mission requirements and their impact on control system design are discussed along with the original features of the control strategy. Simulation of the total system is described, and the most significant results are presented.
