Abstract
Australia is one of five net energy exporting countries in the OECD. It is able to earn billions of dollars annually from the sales of its energy resources. It has copious quantities of coal, natural gas and uranium, enough to last many years at current production rates. Only in oil is Australia not self-sufficient and reliant on imports. The adoption of more fuel substitution measures could help to alleviate this shortfall
