Abstract
The rapid growth of China´s economy demands a growth rate of its electricity production of about 8%. To meet this demand, China is looking for international co-operation, including equipment import, technology transfer and, more importantly, foreign investment. There are thus huge opportunities for Western engineering companies. This article reviews the current situation of China´s electricity industry, power generation and power networks, and the possibilities for international co-operation.
