Abstract
This paper deals with automotive climate control using modern control theory. Automobile compartment temperature is controlled by varying compressor capacity and the position of the air mixing damper. The mathematical model of the system is obtained using a statistical identification method, and this system model is reduced to lower order using minimal realization. The experimental results show robust control performance under climate changes causing parameter variations or disturbances.
