Abstract :
Results are presented for a system combining optical injection locking and closed-loop optical-frequency tuning to achieve accurate phase and frequency control of a MESFET oscillator operating at 1.3 GHz. The system might find application in the phase synchronisation of modules in phased-array antennas, where the phase reference is distributed by an optical-fibre network.
