Abstract :
A technique for producing single-layer antireflection coatings on lithium niobate is described, based on ion-assisted deposition of magnesium fluoride and silicon dioxide. Measurements show a lowest device reflectivity of -42 dB, at 1.55 mu m, using a silicon dioxide coating.
