Abstract :
The authors propose a simplification of a maximum likelihood sequence estimator (MLSE) and multiple channel estimator algorithm used for equalising fast time-varying and frequency selective channels. The original algorithm suffers from a large computational burden when operating on typical mobile radio channels. The proposed algorithm reduces the number of channel estimators employed and the resulting performance/complexity tradeoff is simulated
