Abstract :
Long lengths of fibre with a single internal electrode and electrically conductive coating incorporated during the fibre draw have been previously reported. Now, thermal poling of this fibre creating a permanent electro-optic effect is reported. Also, the fabrication methods employed for this fibre provide a unique opportunity to investigate further the mechanism of thermal poling.
