  • Abstract
    The spectral index method is applied to closely coupled rib waveguides. Analytical expressions in terms of the propagation constant beta are given for symmetric and antisymmetric polarised modes. The calculated coupling lengths are in excellent agreement with those obtained by mainframe programs.
