Abstract :
All-optical composite logic gates with XOR, NOR, OR and NAND functions using a parallel semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) structure that enables simultaneous operations of various logic functions have been proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The proposed scheme is robust and feasible for high-speed all-optical logic operation with high extinction ratio.
