Abstract :
A twelve channel receiver array operating at 2.5 Gbit/s per channel, i.e. with an aggregate capacity of 30 Gbit/s, has been fabricated using silicon hybrid technology. The module, which is intended for use in rack-to-rack and board-to-board optical interconnects, has a typical sensitivity of ~-20 dBm in fibre at 1.3 μm wavelength, and a channel-to-channel crosstalk penalty of <0.5 dB
