Abstract :
The paper discusses the possible advantages of cnc to the production engineer and outlines a system developed to investigate the practicability of manufacturing particular components. Three applications are described dealing, respectively, with turning variable pitch and depth screw threads, grinding irregular profiles to a high degree of precision and manufacturing handbells to ring at a prescribed tone.
