Abstract :
This paper investigates the problem of load estimation in unbalanced, radial power-distribution networks. The problem is formulated as a weighted l-estimation problem with equality and inequality constraints. Properties of the measurement Jacobian are exploited to develop a solution algorithm that decomposes the network into several smaller zones. Detailed tests on a 20-bus, unbalanced, radial distribution network are presented with promising results.
