Abstract :
In this paper, a method for design of a controller incorporating a parallel processor with a configuration enabling the distribution of calculation load is presented. This configuration employs microprocessors of two distinct types. The first is a general-purpose type used as the host processor to process the interrupts for input/output signals frequently generated in automotive controls. The second is a data-flow type of matrix processor executing numerical calculations to be performed in digital control systems using modern control. These processes are performed concurrently. The controller is applied to an automotive antiskid system, and favorable results are obtained. As a result, the parallel processor configuration is demonstrated to be effective.
