Abstract :
The Lorentz gauge formulation is shown to be easily extendable to handle transient and multiply connected problems in a robust manner. It is demonstrated that the extensions to handle multiply connected problems also provide a mechanism for tackling configurations that are not immediately amenable to the standard deployment of A and φ throughout the solution domain; i.e. A is used in conductors and φ in nonconductors. This work on the classical Lorentz formulation has resulted in a commercial code, ELEKTRA
