Abstract :
A position sensitive parallel plate analyser (PSPPA) for the angle resolved study of electrons produced in ion-atom collisions has recently been built and tested. This new spectrograph consists of a 30° parallel plate analyser (PPA) equipped with a Chevron microchannel plate assembly with resistive anode encoding for one dimensional position analysis of electrons incident on the second order focal plane. Our PSPPA has an electron detection efficiency of over 100 times that of conventional PPA´s.
