Abstract :
Improved analytical formulas for the computer-aided design of parallel coupled slab lines are presented. They make it possible to calculate the geometrical dimensions of the lines for given characteristic impedances Z0e and Z0o . The design of lines under consideration is equivalent to solving two nonlinear equations with the diameter of the rods and the width of the slot as unknown variables. For this purpose conventional numerical methods can be applied. It is concluded that the derived formulas ensure a good agreement of calculations with accurate numerical results for a wide range of geometrical dimensions of the lines. A Basic listing for the CSL computer program is given as an example of the design method
