Abstract
The authors present a comparison between results predicted by four mathematical models of hysteresis and experimental data measured on a CoNiCr alloy for longitudinal recording. Two of those models are simple analytical formulas and can be used in a first approach to the phenomena, but are deficient in terms of modeling the behavior of minor loops. The other two models are more sophisticated. The first assumes a differential equation between B and H , while the other is derived from the Preisach model. The authors present results showing that, for the material studied, the last model gives the best fitting to experimental data
