Abstract :
A highly efficient energy-recovery circuit (ERC) is proposed for plasma display panels (PDPs). This ERC employs an address voltage source used in an addressing period as the PDP is charged and discharged. As a result, the proposed circuit can reduce power consumption, switching loss, heat dissipation, and production cost. To verify the operation and features of the proposed circuit, experimental results with a 42-in standard-definition PDP are provided.
