Abstract :
When an f.e.t. amplifier drives a common-emitter bipolar-transistor second stage, it may be operated with the channel not pinched off. The advantages of such an arrangement include reduction of power dissipation and noise, improved frequency response, and great circuit simplicity. There are difficulties in computing the properties of amplifiers of this type.
