Abstract :
A description is given of the CASE/MVS project, which combines knowledge engineering and software engineering to provide a powerful computer-aided software engineering (CASE) environment for developing the MVS/XA operating system. The components and characteristics of the knowledge base are discussed. Aspects of the CASE/MVS project are examined, namely, managing source specifications, creating and analyzing static models, dynamic analysis, and code generation.<>
