Abstract
A signal model of the spatially distributed source with finite bandwidth is presented. The perturbation of the array covariance matrix caused by small bandwidth is analysed. The asymptotic bias of the maximum likelihood estimate of the source bearing is formulated. Numerical results illustrate that the additive bandwidth-induced bias monotonously increases with the spatio-temporal extension of the source.
