Abstract
By sampling the probability distribution function of the heavy-tailed distribution, the probability generating function of the distribution is approximately constructed so that it can be substituted into Laevens´ (1997) expression to calculate the power spectral density of the associated heavy-tailed on-off sources. Calculating examples are given and are validated theoretically and empirically.
