Abstract :
The main features of the OSCAR 2D code for the computation of electromagnetic fields in resonant cavities are described after a brief review of the numerical method that the code uses. Accuracy, robustness, flexibility, and capability to separate tightly clustered modes are discussed from the viewpoint of the cavity designer. Examples of OSCAR 2D applications in practical design work are reported, with the aim of illustrating these features.
