Abstract :
An efficient finite-element method for analyzing waveguide scattering problems, the matching load method, is presented. This method, similar to a standard VSWR measuring technique, can be used to calculate the reflection coefficient of n-port microwave components by introducing perfectly matching loads. Two discontinuity waveguide structures are calculated by this method and by the matrix method. The results found by the two methods are compared.
