  • Abstract
    Experiments with a beam¿plasma amplifier, in which the input coupler is a cavity and the output coupling is due to Cerenkov radiation from the beam¿plasma system into a dielectric, is discussed. The overall gain of the tube was 15dB at 10GHz. The Cerenkov effect has also been used to couple an electromagnetic signal into the beam¿plasma system.
