Abstract :
An empirical formula is presented to represent the relationship between the differential current and voltage of a differential source-coupled pair using scaled MOS transistors. Using this formula, closed-form expressions are obtained for the harmonic and intermodulation components resulting from exciting the differential pair by a multisinusoidal signal. Using these expressions, the effect of scaling MOS device dimensions on harmonic and intermodulation distortion can be calculated.
