Calculation of communication-network response to arbitrary transients

A method recently presented for the calculation of communication-network response to arbitrary transients suffers from the defect that the numerator and the denominator of the complex transfer function have to be expressed as products of quadratic factors, if they are not already in this form. This restriction can be readily removed without losing the advantages of the method.
