  • Abstract
    A technique for etching fine field emitters of CdS single crystals has been developed. Relatively high field-emission currents at low voltages are obtained (typically 10¿6 A at 2kV). The results, when plotted, agree with the Fowler¿Nordheim equation, with deviations at currents above 10¿7 A and below 10¿9 A. Possible explanations of the deviations are discussed.
