Abstract :
The electromagnetic behavior of a sheet winding transformer is examined. Modeling each part of this transformer presents particular difficulties. The high-voltage coil consists of approximately 3000 elementary thin conductors. A solution based on the fact that the reaction field of the high-voltage thin elementary conductors does not influence macroscopically the distribution of the whole magnetic field is proposed. On the other hand, the variation of the magnetic field in the sheet winding is almost insignificant in the radial direction. The use of line elements for sheet windings allows an easier meshing. The results from sheet winding numerical modeling are compared to the experimental ones, and the results of two different high-voltage coil modelings between them.
