Abstract :
Iterative methods for solution of the Lyapunov matrix equation for continuous systems A´L+LA=¿C based on prior reduction of A to Schwarz or Routh canonical form, are described. The methods are based on the effect which a similarity transformation on A has on the equation. A restriction on solubility is discussed.
