Abstract :
A thin plate approximation in which the current flow is limited in tangential direction is useful for eddy current analysis. The eddy current distribution is solved by a integro-differential method using the normal component of the electric vector potential. A method taking account of the source current distribution in the thin plate is proposed. A scalar potential is introduced for the analysis of source current distribution, and the scalar potential is solved by a 2-D finite-element method which is, expanded to the 3-D shell. The applicability of the proposed method is verified by experimental data.
