Abstract :
This paper demonstrates how the techniques of generalized harmonic analysis may be applied to a permanent split capacitor (PSC) motor, allowing for the effects of interbar currents. The analysis is verified using an extensive set of experimental measurements made on a 2.5-hp two-pole motor, which show excellent agreement with calculation, provided an appropriate interbar current flow model is adopted.
