Abstract :
A transportable Travelling Flux Detector system for use on CANDU power reactors has been developed and tested at the Chalk River Nuclear Laboratories. This system consists of a mniniature fission clhamber on a motorized winch housed in a lead shielding flask. The movement of the fission chamber and the collection of data are handled by a microcomputer located near the flask on the reactor deck, while data storage and later analysis are handled by another microcomputer at a remote location.
