Abstract
The influence of a loop conductor with vertical rods, embedded in soil and galvanically connected with a foundation grounding system, on the grounding resistance of such a complex grounding system is presented. The frequent practical case of a foundation grounding system in the form of a rectangular concrete block with a horizontal grid inside, surrounded by a loop with vertical rods, is analysed theoretically. An approximate formula for a practical assessment of such a complex grounding system resistance is also given
