Abstract :
This issue represents our second regular Transaction using the new for-mat and printing. Comments to date on the January issue have been very favorable. We proudly present as our distinguished Microwave personality of this issue, W. W. Mumford. Mr. Mumford, in addition to being a well-known figure in the field, is one of the most active members of the Professional Group on Microwave Theory and Techniques and has been National Chairman of the Group for the past year. Two other special articles have been included in this month\´s publication. Both of them are invited papers. The first paper, by D. D. King, is the annual summary of work in the Microwave field entitled "Advances in Microwave Theory and Techniques." The other paper is a tutorial paper by E. W. Matthews, Jr., on "The Use of Scattering Matrices in Microwave Circuits."
